So on my laptop original windows 7 crashed and hidden hard drive recovery partion didnt work so i installed a new version of windows 7 and now gateway sent me free recovery disk and i was wondering if i do the reccovery with disk will it create a gateway recovery mangment if a hidden hard drive partion

My old laptop hard drive died the other day! It's powering up, but the spindle will not move! I can hear it clicking, and the windows is saying that the drive has malfunctioned!
I've look on the net to see what i can get done with it, but these data recovery people are mostly very costly, £200 plus for one hard drive! I don't have that kind of money. But really want everything of there hard drive! Is there any way i could do it my-self or does anyone know of a company that is not over the £100 mark???

I had my hard drive out side the case still connected to the system and running.I accedentily spilt some cola on it now it wont start up and just makes a continuing clicking sound.
It is a Maxtor.
Is there any way at all that i can recover my photos from it as i didnt make a back up of them?
